Here we happily go again!

In Summary:

• Beautiful site located near Darite, Liskeard, Cornwall

• No more than 20 people in total, 17 Participants & 3 facilitators

• All meals prepared & cooked for us

• Flushing Loo & Shower on site

• Drum provided (without extra charge) if required

• Arrival from 4pm on Friday 8th August to 2pm on Monday 11th August, departure by 4pm

• £250 per person including all food (This includes a £100 non-refundable deposit to secure a place)

• Please pay remaining £150 on 1st August via BACS to The Rhythms of Grace bank account (details sent in email received after booking) or cash in person on arrival

Some thoughts from Felicity:

Having been part of the core group for the Rise Up Singing Camp, as well as the precursor to it, for almost a quarter of a century, I have learned some useful things…

Mostly that it is not about the drum. It is of course, but actually it is about many other things. To name a few: people, humanity, community & camaraderie, good food shared, Fire, Nature…

With this in mind we play together, feed the fire together, share food together, and take on the weather together.

An important element of our time together (as with our drumming workshop days) is our sharing of food together. To that end, our Viking Chef Miki is joining us again from Sweden. I know of no one better to cook for us in the middle of a field, and I am delighted that he will be with us. Having tasted his cooking both indoors and outdoors, I am thrilled to bits!

The meals are typically seasonal, varied, and cooked with local produce as much as possible. Though we won't be able to cater for personal preferences, we will make sure we accommodate people with medically required diets and we request your support in this endeavour. What a joy! Cookers and cooking equipment can be left behind! Only a plate, a bowl, cutlery and a mug required. We can Drum Our Hearts Out and the food is all taken care of for us. Hip hip!

Amongst our other accoutrements we will require a good sense of humour, a willingness to make mistakes, a Djembe if you have one (please let us know if you would like to borrow one whilst filling out your registration form and we will reserve one for your use), and ideally a 3 legged camping stool for drumming…

To enable our remembering of both the rhythms of Nature and something of the extraordinariness of our humanity, we request that we leave electricity, electric powered lights, batteries, screens, phones, and otherwise generated power behind us as we arrive. Phones can be left in the car, if necessary. We encourage as little contact with electrics as possible, in order to really settle in to one’s experience…

Wondering about a campervan? We have a strong request for not relying on a campervan for this experience. There are no vehicles on the main site, and so the experience, by nature, would be compromised for everyone. The road is also narrow, winding, and barely a road, strewn with large potholes. It is likely a campervan would not fare well. If this puts you in a position of having to abandon us please get in touch to discuss…
